Currently completing her graduate degree in Environmental Science, she is putting the finishing touches on her thesis titled, "Twig to Canopy: Exploring the Links Between Corner's Rules, Economic Traits, and Leaf Area in Urban Trees".
From 2020-2022, she served on The Holden Arboretum Horticulture Team as a research intern, where she and Andrew first connected. In addition to her research, Jillian has published papers on tree health and use of LiDAR in tree analysis. Her combined academic and hands-on field experience complements the mission of The Dirty Horticulturist to promote sustainable tree care and preserve and improve urban ecosystem health!
